We had a wonderful week of building relationships and serving in Appalachia!
We connected with Ms. Peggy, a true servant for the Lord, who needed some painting completed at her home. We painted ceilings and walls in her kitchen, hallway and bedroom.
We connected with Mr. Walter & Ms. Kay. They had not had running water for over 5 years. They live is a “tiny house”. It is a one room that serves as bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Our team installed a shower, digging a 80’ long x 3’ deep trench and running a pipeline to bring water into their home for a shower.
We connected with Ms. Valeda, a “grandmother” to many in her neighborhood. We powerwashed and re-painted her mobile home and took down and re-hung skirting around the bottom of the mobile home. We also wire-brushed the wrought iron banister around her porch and prepared it for painting.
More important that all those things, we built relationships! We enjoyed playing in the park with families. We enjoyed time with the homeowners we served with. We enjoyed getting to know the staff and interns. We enjoyed building friendships with the team from Millersburg Christian Church. And we enjoyed growing closer with the others within our own team.
The Lord moved within each of us this week, as he continued His work in Appalachia. It was a blessing for all of us!
